Sharing Christmas around the world: Game Time!

While we all celebrate Christmas for the same reason, people from different countries celebrate in different ways.
Find out about traditions that are special to a range of countries. Create a fact file, try to include information from at least 8 different countries.
Your mission is to create a game for 2 or more players. Your game should help people to find out about about Christmas traditions from around the world.
Because this is a rather big activity, you may choose to work with someone else to create your game.
Remember to give your game a name, include instructions and also think about how you will package it.

Christmas treat

With a friend check out Christmas recipes from around the world.
Select a recipe that could easily be prepared at school.
Decide: If you were to make this treat, who would you make it for and why?
Tell teacher about what you would like to make, who it would be for and why. Work out whether you will make this treat at school or at home.
Once you have made your treat, present it with a card giving information about the country that the food is from.
Present your edible gift to your chosen person or group.

Advertiser

Often when we think of Christmas we think of presents, food and holidays. We can forget the true meaning of Christmas.
With someone else design an advertising campaign that reminds people about the true meaning of Christmas.
Your campaign may include: a radio jingle, a TV commericial, a newspaper advertisement, badges and bumper stickers, posters ...
Remember that your campaign needs to persuade people to think about the real meaning of Christmas rather than getting caught up in the commercial hype.
Work out a way to evaluate how effective your campaign has been. Were you successful?
